  • Lead direct outreach and early-stage engagement, including shaping opportunities through 8(a) direct awards and competitive proposal strategies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, marketing material development, and prospect targeting.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry days, trade shows, and other key events (travel 30–50%).
  • Collaborate with capture managers, solution architects, and delivery teams to ensure opportunities transition smoothly into capture and proposal phases.
  • Initiate and manage teaming agreements and strategic alliances.
  • Identify and communicate customer requirements, competitive threats, and teaming strategies to help shape winning solutions.
  • Drive and participate in gate reviews, black hat sessions, pricing discussions, and other pursuit-related reviews.
  • Clearly communicate our value proposition and core competencies in IT professional services to potential clients and partners.
  • Submit timely trip reports and expense documentation.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of experience driving business development in IT professional services within the Federal/DoD sector.
  • A strong track record of securing new business—experience with 8(a) business development is highly preferred.
  • The ability to balance assertiveness with professionalism when pursuing and closing new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
