As a Mass Properties Engineer III, you will lead complex mass properties projects, providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers. You will play a critical role in ensuring the success of aerospace systems by delivering accurate and reliable mass properties data.
Alternate locations of Wichita, KS or Miamisburg, OH would also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the calculation and analysis of mass properties for advanced aerospace systems.
- Develop and validate mass properties models and simulations.
- Inventory and weigh aircraft.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Review and approve mass properties documentation and reports.
- Lead and participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Manage project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate mass properties into broader project goals.
Skills:Qualifications You Must Have:
- General knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Exposure to Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- May require lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Work in an office, lab, hangar, or hybrid environment.
- May be required to occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
Education:Education You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Education We Prefer:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
