Mount Indie is hiring a Project Engineer to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California.
Duties will include:
- Developing project sustainment tasks related to the F/A-18 aircraft by reviewing sponsor project proposals and plans and conferring with management to align on deliverables.
- Determining project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and assigning personnel accordingly.
- Analyzing and establishing project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Designing and conducting technical studies and tests to confirm product performance and sustainment viability.
- Creating and managing detailed project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
- Monitoring and coordinating ongoing project activities, identifying, and resolving issues to maintain project timelines.
- Controlling project plans through continuous review of designs, specifications, and schedule changes while recommending necessary actions to management.
- Preparing comprehensive project status reports, analyzing trends, and providing strategic recommendations.
- Responsible for planning and execution of engineering development efforts for a cross functional engineering and logistics team.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Providing a blend of strong engineering expertise and proven project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Serve as a key liaison for the FST lead and various stakeholders, including clients, engineering teams, and other departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing and maintaining project plans, staffing plans, and related planning documents to support FST tasking
Required Skills and Experience:
- Current Secret Clearance or higher
- 3-10 years of experience in Engineering and Logistics program/project management.
- BS or BA degree in Engineering field
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, in an office environment.
