Summary

We are seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Senior Consultant to support enterprise virtualization initiatives using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. This is a 100% remote consulting engagement estimated at 720 hours, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in OpenShift, Kubernetes, virtualization technologies, and customer-facing consulting engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of OpenShift Virtualization solutions in enterprise environments.
• Assess existing virtual machine infrastructure and develop migration strategies to OpenShift Virtualization.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift clusters supporting virtualized workloads.
• Perform migrations from legacy virtualization platforms such as VMware to OpenShift Virtualization.
• Configure networking, storage, and high availability features for virtual machine workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex platform, networking, storage, and virtualization issues.
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders to gather technical requirements and define migration roadmaps.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for OpenShift Virtualization architecture and operations.
• Develop implementation documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Mentor customer teams on administration, operations, and ongoing support of OpenShift Virtualization environments.

Requirements

• Extensive experience deploying and administering Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization (CNV).
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and container platforms.
• Experience migrating workloads from VMware or other virtualization platforms to OpenShift Virtualization.
• Strong Linux administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience configuring virtualization networking, storage, and high availability.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions and Kubernetes storage concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to work directly with enterprise customers.
• Experience creating technical documentation and implementation guides.
• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization are a plus.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform.
• Knowledge of GitOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible).
• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cluster OpenShift environments.
• Previous consulting or professional services experience supporting enterprise customers.
