Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) Consultant to support the design, implementation, and optimization of Event-Driven Ansible capabilities within Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with EDA, Ansible automation, rulebooks, event sources, and integrating event-driven workflows with existing automation. This consultant will work closely with technical teams to develop scalable automation solutions that respond to real-time events, reduce manual intervention, and improve operational efficiency. This is a fully remote engagement and approximately 520 hours with potential for extension.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement Event-Driven Ansible solutions within Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Develop and maintain Ansible Rulebooks to define event-driven conditions and automated responses.
• Configure and integrate event sources such as monitoring, observability, ITSM, webhooks, and messaging platforms.
• Configure Event-Driven Ansible Controller, including projects, credentials, decision environments, and rulebook activations.
• Integrate EDA with Ansible Automation Controller to trigger playbooks, job templates, and workflows based on defined events.
• Develop automation workflows for incident response, remediation, configuration management, and operational tasks.
• Build and customize Decision Environments and manage required Ansible collections and dependencies.
• Troubleshoot and optimize EDA rulebooks, event sources, activations, and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to replace manual processes with event-driven automation.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to customer teams.
• Follow automation and infrastructure-as-code best practices to develop maintainable, repeatable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
• Demonstrated experience implementing Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) solutions.
• Strong experience developing Ansible Rulebooks using YAML.
• Experience working with EDA event sources, conditions, and actions.
• Experience with Event-Driven Ansible Controller and rulebook activations.
• Experience integrating EDA with Ansible Automation Controller and existing Ansible playbooks/workflows.
• Strong Ansible automation and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Linux/RHEL environments.
• Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to work directly with technical stakeholders.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must reside within the Continental United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating or customizing Decision Environments.
• Experience with event sources such as webhooks, Kafka, monitoring, observability, or ITSM platforms.
• Experience with Python and Ansible collections.
• Experience integrating automation with enterprise monitoring or ITSM solutions.
• Red Hat Ansible certifications are a plus.
• Experience in a consulting or customer-facing technical role.
