In this hands-on position, the Associate Data Scientist Intern at IDPrivacy, you will work very closely with the engineering team to design and develop advanced analytic solutions that address privacy concerns within the advertising technology ecosystem. You will contribute towards building privacy first solutions for critical components of the online advertising ecosystem. This role involves close collaboration with the development and support teams to integrate sophisticated data models and analytics into our privacy-first advertising platforms. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in reshaping the future of digital advertising, ensuring our platforms are privacy-preserving and setting new industry standards.

Internship Responsibilities:
- Work closely with cross functional team, including support and development, to understand client data needs and translate them into analytics strategies
- Assist with design, develop and implementing data models and algorithms to address complex business challenges related to privacy-preserving advertising technologies
- Assist with conducting advanced data analysis, including machine learning, regression analysis, decision trees, and NLP, to drive business insights and enhance decision-making processes.
- Assist with defining and optimizing data requirements for analytic and advertising solutions, ensuring they meet business objectives
- Translates data science results into clear business focused deliverables for decision makers
- Assist and work alongside management with leading project plans and works with development team to deploy models into operational systems
- Integrates advanced analytics into end-to-end business intelligence solutions and operational business processes
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in data science and analytics, evaluating new opportunities for innovation within the privacy-focused advertising space.
- Assist with ensuring all data processes and models adhere to the highest standards of privacy and data protection.
- Document the development process, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Assist with translating complex data science results into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers, ensuring alignment with IDPrivacy's privacy-first mission.
Internship Qualifications:
Education:
- 6 months of professional or internship experience, and working towards completion of a Bachelors or Master of Science or equivalent degree in applied statistics, mathematics, data science or related area of study
- 2+ years of using machine learning methodologies such as regression, decision trees, time series analysis, NLP
- 6 months to 1+ year of experience working with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in R / Python with strong experience in libraries such as Tensorflow, scikit-learn and pandas for machine learning and data analysis
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI)
- Familiarity with big technologies like Hadoop / Spark, Map/Reduce, Hive or equivalent
- Familiarity with backend technologies and RESTful APIs to ensure seamless integration with server-side logic.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Familiar with Slack and Teams, and able to communication via email, text or phone to provide consistent communication.
Preferred Skills but not Required:
- Experience with community detection, audience segmentation, and recommendation algorithms.
- Prior research or work experience in online privacy, federated learning and differential privacy.

Attendance Expectations:
The internship requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday, however, may include some evening hours, weekends, to complete projects. As an internship the length is 6 months, 20-30hrs per week.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the intern is regularly required to talk, hear, type and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to sit for long periods of time to complete work on a computer.
