Group Benefits Account Executive Company: Our client is a well-established independent insurance agency located in Cedar Knolls, NJ. Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base salary, commensurate with experience Job Location: Cedar Knolls, NJ — Hybrid (2–4 days in office) Role Summary: You will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of small to mid-market group benefits clients at a respected, established independent insurance agency. Partnering closely with producers, you will manage the full renewal cycle — from marketing and quoting through carrier negotiations and final plan presentation — while handling the day-to-day service needs that keep clients confident and covered. This is a role where your technical benefits knowledge and client relationship skills work together every day, and where the depth of your carrier and product expertise directly shapes the outcomes your clients experience. Responsibilities: • Serve as the primary contact for assigned group benefits clients, managing the full relationship from renewal strategy through ongoing day-to-day service. • Lead the renewal process end-to-end, including carrier marketing, quoting, rate comparison analysis, and plan option presentations to clients. • Partner with producers to support new business opportunities and contribute to client retention across the agency's book. • Manage ongoing service needs including eligibility changes, enrollments, and issue resolution, coordinating with internal teams for accurate, timely delivery. • Support the implementation of benefit programs and open enrollment processes, ensuring a smooth experience for clients and their employees. • Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and stay current on market trends, product developments, and underwriting changes in the small and mid-market space. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Group Benefits Account Executive or in a comparable client-facing account management role at an independent insurance agency or brokerage. • Strong working knowledge of fully insured medical, dental, vision, and ancillary products, including small and mid-market rating structures and underwriting. • Hands-on experience managing the full renewal cycle — carrier marketing, quoting, and account servicing — with a track record of client retention. • Ability to work effectively with both producers and clients, navigating competing priorities with professionalism and a client-first approach. • Familiarity with self-funded plan structures is a plus; experience with HRIS or benefits administration platforms such as Employee Navigator is preferred. • United States Citizen; must be authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
