Job Title: Network Engineer III

Location: Bronx, NY (On-site)

Compensation: $60.44 – $65.93 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:

A large, well-established property management company in the Bronx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer III to join their IT department. This critical role involves overseeing network infrastructure across a vast residential and commercial portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing and securing complex networks, managing Cisco-based systems, and ensuring seamless communication across all digital platforms. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about technology infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, and firewalls
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime
  • Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update network documentation and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Lead or mentor junior IT team members
  • Manage VPN access, VoIP systems, and Unified Communications tools (Cisco and Avaya)
  • Ensure timely resolution of service issues in line with SLA commitments


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 7+ years of related experience in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
  • Deep experience with network protocols and services: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, ACL, IPsec, and more
  • Strong background in Cisco equipment and systems (routers, switches, wireless, VoIP, UCCX)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark
  • Preferred certifications: Cisco (Voice/Collab/UCCX), CompTIA Network+ or Security+, CWNP
  • Disaster recovery and security architecture experience a plus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
