Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus


Job Overview

Our client, a high-performing independent insurance brokerage based in Livingston, NJ, is seeking a seasoned Senior Claims Specialist to join their growing organization. This is a senior-level position designed for a claims professional who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and requires minimal supervision.

The firm provides commercial lines, high-net-worth personal lines, employee benefits, and advisory services. They are known for delivering tailored, white-glove solutions and maintaining high expectations across the organization.

The Senior Claims Specialist will serve as a strategic claims advocate, managing complex claims from first notice through final resolution while driving optimal outcomes for internal stakeholders and clients. This role requires strong technical claims knowledge, sound coverage interpretation skills, and the ability to manage significant volume and competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

This is a predominantly in-office position (4 days per week required) in Livingston, NJ.


Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned claims from initial reporting through final disposition
  • Serve as a client advocate and negotiate favorable claim outcomes
  • Identify and analyze intermediate to complex coverage issues
  • Conduct detailed desk reviews including liability, damages analysis, and renewal-related reporting
  • Coordinate and lead carrier and internal claim review meetings
  • Maintain accurate claim files, documentation, and diary systems in accordance with best practices
  • Build strong relationships with internal account teams, carriers, adjusters, and external partners
  • Autonomously manage designated accounts with limited oversight
  • Support leadership on special projects and departmental initiatives


Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant claims experience
  • Strong commercial lines claims background required (Property-only backgrounds are not acceptable)
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following: Auto, General Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation
  • Experience handling high-net-worth personal lines claims is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in Applied Epic strongly preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations while maintaining composure
  • Highly solution-oriented with strong negotiation capabilities
  • Tenacious approach to resolving complex or challenging claims
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and unpredictable workloads
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and work outside of standard business hours when necessary
