Title: HR Generalist

Location: Jericho, NY - in-office

Our client is a well-established and growing IT Services company and Value-Added Reseller (VAR) based in the NY Metro area. Partnering with industry leaders like Cisco, HPE, Dell, and VMware, they deliver technology solutions and managed services to clients in financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and media/entertainment. With approximately 100–150 employees across offices in Long Island, Hartford, and Boston, they have built a strong reputation and an employee-centric culture — evidenced by a deeply tenured workforce, competitive benefits, and a genuine investment in their people. Due to strong projected growth over the next five years, they are adding an HR Generalist to support and scale their people operations.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving technology company at an exciting inflection point. As their HR Generalist, you will be a key member of the HR team, reporting to senior leadership and working closely with experienced HR professionals. You will own the day-to-day HR operational activities that keep a growing workforce engaged, compliant, and well-supported. You will be a visible presence across the company — building relationships with employees at every level, traveling to the Hartford and Boston offices to maintain consistent HR support, and helping shape the culture of a company that genuinely puts people first. This role also comes with a clear path forward: our client promotes from within and is committed to the growth and development of their people. For the right candidate, this is a real opportunity to advance into an HR Manager role as the company continues to grow.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You will support the full recruiting cycle — working with external recruiters, posting open roles, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and managing the candidate experience from first contact through offer.
  • You will lead onboarding for new hires, including managing group onboarding events when the company brings on cohorts of 6–10 employees for project deployments.
  • You will be the go-to resource for employee questions, concerns, and workplace matters — building credibility as a trusted HR partner for both individual contributors and managers.
  • You will manage offboarding and separations, ensuring smooth, compliant, and professional transitions for departing employees.
  • You will support benefits administration by helping employees navigate their options and keeping enrollment records current and accurate.
  • You will maintain employee records and HR data within the company's systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • You will travel to the Hartford, CT and Boston, MA offices (approximately 25% of the time) to provide on-site HR support and maintain strong employee relationships across all locations.

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • 3–5 years of HR generalist experience in a professional services, technology, or related environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • Solid working knowledge across core HR functions: recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits support, and offboarding.
  • Familiarity with employment law and HR compliance, particularly in New York State.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — you build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company where priorities can shift and no two days are the same.
  • Must reside on Long Island and be able to commute daily to the office; must be open to regular travel to Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive medical and dental insurance
  • Life insurance and disability coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 15 days PTO plus paid company holidays

Why This Role Stands Out

Our client is not just hiring for today — they are investing in the future of their HR function. If you are an HR professional who wants visibility, autonomy, and a genuine growth path, this role delivers all three. You will report directly to company leadership, have a real voice in shaping how people operations evolve as the company scales, and benefit from an organization that genuinely invests in the growth of its employees. Their long-tenured employee base is a testament to the culture they have built — and you will have the opportunity to carry that culture forward.

Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
