Job Title: Pre-Sales Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Jericho, NY (Long Island) with travel throughout Long Island and NYC (5 boroughs)

Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 base salary + commissions on territory sales + full benefits


Job Overview

Our client, a well-established IT Services provider headquartered in Jericho, NY, is seeking a Pre-Sales Network Engineer with strong Cisco and Meraki expertise. This role is approximately 80% pre-sales and 20% post-sales and is ideal for an engineer who enjoys influencing technical direction, partnering closely with sales teams, and helping customers design secure, scalable network solutions.

The Pre-Sales Network Engineer will work closely with account executives throughout Long Island and the five boroughs of NYC. They will lead technical discovery conversations, design Cisco and Meraki-centric solutions, contribute to proposals and statements of work, and remain engaged through implementation and escalation support.

This is a hybrid role with several days per week expected in their Jericho office, along with travel to client sites within the territory.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales teams to lead technical discovery meetings and assess client networking requirements
  • Design Cisco and Meraki-based network solutions including routing, switching, wireless, security, and SD-WAN
  • Develop scopes of work, bills of materials, and technical proposals
  • Present and articulate solution designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support post-sales implementation, cutover activities, and high-level escalation troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure smooth transition from design to deployment


Qualifications

  • 4–8+ years of hands-on Cisco and Meraki networking experience
  • Prior experience working for an IT Services provider, MSP, VAR, or similar consulting environment (strongly preferred)
  • Proven customer-facing experience in pre-sales engineering or solution design
  • Familiarity with VMware, server operating systems, storage concepts, and basic cloud networking (Azure/AWS)
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP or equivalent are strongly preferred
