Avionics/IPC Electronics Technician
Job Summary
Support fabrication, assembly, and test of avionics electronic systems. Responsibilities include assembly and disassembly of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs). Other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support fabrication, assembly, and testing of avionics electronic systems
- Assemble and disassemble LRUs and CCAs
- Operate test equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
- Handle and test delicate, ESD-sensitive circuit card assemblies
- Interpret engineering schematics and assembly drawings
- Interface with Quality Assurance personnel
- Maintain required AS9100D records
- Perform soldering on printed wire assemblies, cables, and harnesses
- Demonstrate skills competency as required
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Experience operating electronic test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, ATE)
- Ability to interpret engineering schematics and assembly drawings
- Knowledge of ESD handling requirements
- Soldering experience on printed wire assemblies, cables, and harnesses
- Good organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Dependable, reliable, and resourceful
- Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team with minimal supervision
Certifications
- IPC certification is required
- Previous NASA certification or IPC-J-STD-001 training preferred
Physical Requirements
- Transport, operate, and maintain electronic equipment in the field
- Work indoors and outdoors
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
Work Environment and Schedule
- Dress code: Business casual
- Work hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Overtime as assigned
