Job Description: Automotive Photography Technician
Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture photographs of automotive parts following written and verbal instructions.
- Crop and edit photos using Photoshop to fit client-specified formatted templates.
- Perform photo touch-ups to correct glare, shadows, and backlighting.
- Recognize and apply correct template formats per test type.
- Archive files and manage RAID folders.
- Photograph specific areas of automotive parts while positioning them to minimize light or shadow obstruction.
- Follow and complete photo requests, printing and reproducing photocopies as required.
- Maintain a database of captured photos on client test components.
- Perform photo restoration, color correction, and retouching.
- Print and burn digital files onto CDRs; recognize and work with JPEG formats.
- Assemble and disassemble test components as needed to capture required images.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent training in photography preferred.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience required.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications; ability to navigate in DIMS and make necessary corrections.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, project leaders, and management staff.
- Knowledge of automotive engines, fluids, and engine accessories and their basic functions.
- Knowledge of camera operation and techniques, digital capture formats, lighting, perspective, and layout templates.
- Ability to use computers for data entry and to comprehend/follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to recognize and ensure high technical quality in photographs.
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision while communicating effectively with others.
- Must be organized, efficient, and safety-conscious.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance; less than 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must adhere to safety requirements and practices.
- Work in potentially hazardous environments with high noise levels, heat, and fumes.
- Steel-toe safety shoes required.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a valid driver’s license and MVR check.
- Position is considered safety sensitive.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Business casual dress code; uniform will be provided.
- Standard work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
