Sanitation Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Shift- 2nd shift is from 3:30pm-11:30pm, Mon-Fri
Location: Secaucus, NJ
Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Comp Range: $65,000–$72,000
Summary
Lead second-shift sanitation operations, support Production, and drive food safety compliance. Own SSOP updates, testing, documentation, and team performance while keeping the site audit-ready.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, train, coach, and supervise the sanitation team to reduce food-safety risk and meet performance targets.
- Verify/validate sanitation effectiveness; recommend method/process improvements that raise results and lower cost.
- Update SSOPs; recommend schedule/procedure/sanitation-practice changes for manager review.
- Run the Sanitation Master Schedule; confirm on-time completion; maintain a daily reports archive.
- Implement and report corrective actions from internal inspections and pre-op reports.
- Perform monthly inventory of sanitation supplies.
- Follow up on pest-control observations; conduct internal walk-throughs; maintain records.
- Verify equipment cleaning; perform ATP, AllerSnap, GlutenTox Pro tests as needed; keep files current.
- Inspect machinery parts to prevent damage or food-safety issues.
- Prepare for BRCGS (or other GFSI) audits; maintain files/programs in compliance and the facility “inspection-ready.”
- Coordinate schedules/expectations with other departments.
- Conduct safety, sanitation, and GMP compliance inspections; maintain the sanitation schedule and daily documentation.
- Supervise the 2nd-shift crew; close the building and verify secure access after a daily walkthrough.
- Enforce the visitor policy and confirm the visitor log is completed daily.
- Promote safety; support and enforce facility safety and regulatory programs.
- Perform and train LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Self-driven; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Adequate command of English and Spanish.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Food Science, Business, Chemistry, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years relevant sanitation leadership/training experience.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, AIB, SQF, BRCGS, chemical handling, and environmental testing preferred.
- Proficient with standard computer skills.
