Rail Engineer in Training (EIT)
Job Summary: Support the design and development of railroad engineering projects under the guidance of a PE. Gain experience necessary for licensure and long-term growth into a senior rail engineer role.
Key Requirements:
· Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field.
· Passed FE Exam and actively pursuing PE licensure.
· 2-3 years of rail or transportation engineering experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in developing horizontal and vertical alignments for track design.
· Perform field investigations and site inspections to support engineering studies.
· Prepare plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D
· Conduct calculations for rail geometry, drainage, and construction quantities.
· Coordinate with surveyors, drafters, and other technical staff.
· Research and apply relevant AREMA guidelines, FRA standards, and client-specific criteria.
· Participate in meetings with clients and internal project teams.
· Progress toward PE licensure through active learning and mentorship.

An entry-level or early-career engineer with strong technical aptitude, eagerness to learn, and a career interest in freight rail transportation.
