Position Overview
We are hiring a Project Controls Professional II to support a nuclear development project team in Richland, WA.
This role supports schedule development, cost tracking, estimating, variance analysis, forecasting, reporting, and project controls communication. You will partner with project managers and leadership to monitor project performance, identify risks, track scope/schedule/cost changes, and help maintain accurate project reporting.
This is an onsite, detail-driven role for someone who can work independently, organize complex information, and support project managers with the tools and analysis needed to keep work aligned to scope, schedule, and budget.
What You Will Do
Support project schedule and cost development, analysis, and reporting
Track project estimates, budget performance, and cost/schedule changes
Prepare budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, forecasts, and reconciliations
Monitor contingency balances and support project reporting
Assist project managers with project scope, detailed schedules, cost estimates, and control activities
Use system-generated reporting tools and ad hoc analysis to identify trends and explain variances
Support annual budget, month-end, and year-end close activities
Assist with budget policies, procedures, desk manuals, and training tools
Apply accounting and budgeting principles to project controls work
Interpret and apply GASB-related requirements as needed
Communicate project status, risks, and changes to project managers and leadership
Interface with internal managers, supervisors, and external agencies as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of project controls or project management experience in an industrial environment
OR
Associate’s degree and 6 years of project controls or project management experience
OR
High school diploma/GED and 8 years of project controls or project management experience
Formal training in Primavera P6 or another project management system is required.
Proven experience with:
Earned Value Management methodology
Project controls in an industrial, power generation, nuclear, renewables, heavy industrial, data center, manufacturing, or production environment
Detailed variance analysis
Project reporting and cost analysis
Logic-driven scheduling
Cost estimates, forecasting, and budget tracking
Strong working knowledge of:
Primavera P6
Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
Professional project management principles
Accounting and budgeting principles
Preferred experience with:
Microsoft Power BI
Asset Suite
Workday Adaptive Planning
Workday
Process improvement
Generally accepted accounting principles
Large, complex projects with budgets of $25M+
Certifications:
Earned Value Management certification through PMI, such as PMP, PBA, SP, CAPM, or RMP, is preferred.
Work Environment
Onsite in Richland, WA
4 days per week, 10 hours per day
No remote work
No on-call requirement
Business travel may be authorized as needed
Structured project environment supporting nuclear development work
Cross-functional collaboration with project management, finance, leadership, and external stakeholders

Washington State provides paid sick leave, which can be used similarly to PTO. Employees accrue a minimum of 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked, with carryover allowed per state guidelines.
