Role Overview
As a Project Coordinator, you’ll lead small teams (1–5 people) through planning, scheduling, and execution of refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance projects. You’re the subject‑matter specialist—building budgets, tracking costs, negotiating vendor contracts, and recommending process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Principal Accountabilities
- Project Planning & Control
- Develop and maintain detailed work packages, resource load plans, and ALARA safety strategies
- Sequence tasks and resolve schedule delays or conflicts to keep outages and maintenance on track
- Budget Management
- Estimate and track project costs versus budget; recommend corrective actions for overruns
- Team Coordination
- Direct and mentor project staff, engineers, and contractors to ensure safe, on‑schedule execution
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Develop, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts for parts, services, and specialized resources
- Communication & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver status updates, risk assessments, and budget reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Long‑Range Strategy
- Maintain multi‑year project plans and long‑range outage strategies aligned with station objectives
- Quality & Compliance
- Support the Self‑Assessment and Corrective Action Program; assist outage control center (OCC) functions
Required Education & Experience
Choose one pathway:
1. Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field + 1 year technical experience
2. Associate’s in the above fields + 3 years’ technical experience
3. High School Diploma/GED + 5 years’ technical experience

Essential Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fundamental project‑management techniques (scheduling, resource loading, cost tracking)
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written

Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with human‑performance improvement and error‑reduction methodologies
- Experience with nuclear outage work management and online maintenance processes
- Knowledge of refueling and forced‑outage lifecycle planning
- Hands‑on use of industry‑standard project‑management and reporting software
