Product Developer


Location: Onsite | Louisville, CO

Duration: 6 Months (Potential for Extension or Conversion to Full-Time)

Pay Rate: $36.89/hr.



Role Overview


This Product Developer role supports innovation, renovation, and value improvement initiatives within a leading food and beverage organization. The position focuses on developing products and processes from concept through commercialization, working across R&D, manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and external partners to bring new products to market.


This is a highly hands-on role involving formulation development, bench work, pilot plant testing, industrial trials, product launches, and cross-functional project leadership.


What You Will Do


  • Develop innovative and renovated product formulations aligned with consumer insights, brand objectives, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project goals
  • Manage medium to high complexity product development projects through all stage gate requirements
  • Serve as the R&D representative on cross-functional project teams and ensure project progression using R&D project management tools
  • Partner with ingredient suppliers, co-manufacturers, and vendors to provide technical guidance and support development programs
  • Design, execute, and analyze laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing trials
  • Organize and lead tasting sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate products and drive recommendations
  • Support consumer testing by coordinating sample production and ensuring product quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to commercialize new products successfully
  • Prepare specifications and technical documentation required for product launches and commercialization
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, renovation, and productivity improvements that support business growth
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Coffee Creamers R&D and share best practices across the broader organization
  • Network with global R&D teams to exchange technical knowledge and development best practices



What You Need


  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related scientific field
  • 5–10 years of product development experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 3–5 years with a Master's degree
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring and supporting team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with standard computer and business software applications


What Will Separate You


  • Experience developing food and beverage products from concept through commercialization
  • Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and manufacturing scale-up
  • Strong understanding of food science principles and formulation development
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Experience working with suppliers, co-manufacturers, and external partners
  • Knowledge of stage gate product development processes
