Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Lead QA Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

 

Work Location: Aiken, SC

 

Lead QA Engineer-

The Lead QA Engineer will support a multi-year construction project involving significant civil, mechanical, and electrical construction, including grading, storm drainage, demolition, earthwork, ductbanks, firewater, service water, process piping, electrical systems, and associated site infrastructure.


Duties:


  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership and coordination for project Quality Assurance activities.
  • Support implementation and oversight of the project Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with applicable ASME NQA-1 requirements, DOE Order 414.1D, project procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead and perform quality surveillances, assessments, and other oversight activities to verify effective implementation of quality requirements.
  • Support internal, client, DOE, and external audits by preparing documentation, gathering objective evidence, supporting auditors, and tracking findings.
  • Review construction, engineering, procurement, and other project activities for compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
  • Review and support development and revision of quality procedures, instructions, and implementing documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to QA Engineers and other project personnel regarding quality program requirements.
  • Evaluate identified quality issues and support development, documentation, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support the NCR/CAR process and evaluation of Conditions Adverse to Quality (CAQs) and Significant Conditions Adverse to Quality (SCAQs).
  • Review quality records and objective evidence for completeness, accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
  • Monitor quality trends, recurring issues, audit findings, and corrective actions and communicate significant concerns to Quality management.
  • Support personnel qualification, certification, indoctrination, and training processes associated with quality-affecting activities.
  • Coordinate QA activities with Quality Control, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Document Control, Commissioning, subcontractors, and project management.
  • Support management reviews, quality metrics, and reporting of project quality performance.


Skills/Experience:


  • Minimum 7 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or related quality experience supporting industrial, DOE, nuclear, or other highly regulated projects.
  • Experience performing quality surveillances, assessments, audits, or compliance reviews.
  • Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements and DOE Order 414.1D.
  • Experience working within a formal Quality Assurance Program or Quality Management System.
  • Experience with NCRs, corrective actions, CAQs, quality records, and audit findings.
  • Ability to interpret quality procedures, technical requirements, codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical direction or leadership to quality personnel.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • NQA-1 Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Previous DOE or nuclear construction quality experience.
  • Experience with ASME NQA-1-2019.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action development, effectiveness reviews, and quality trending.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Previous Savannah River Site or other DOE site experience.
