Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Quality Control Engineer (Electrical/I&C) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

 

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Principal Quality Control Engineer (Electrical/I&C)-

 

Duties:

 

  • Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities.
  • Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
  • Establish priorities which support construction/operation’s needs.
  • Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments.
  • Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individuals' commitment to site policies.
  • Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities.
  • Review and approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures.
  • Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards.
  • Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed.
  • Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks.

 

Education/Yrs. of Experience:

                                                        

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

 

  • Well-developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents.
  • Certification in areas of responsibility are required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.
  • Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.
  • Prior DOE work experience.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills.
  • Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Practical field experience in electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) quality control within the last 16 months.
  • Possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.

 

Other Job Requirements:

 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
