Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Technical Project Manager 4 (Project Controls) opportunity in Richland, WA to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

 

Work Location: Remote

Organization/Group: LIP-PR 

Travel: To Los Alamos or Richland, WA for onboarding/and meetings as needed.

Schedule: 4/10s

 

Summary:

The technical project manager (TPM) manages and ensures the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establishes technical requirements for the project; defines project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversees the project team in the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion. Projects are a set of related activities associated with the Line-Item Projects Project Controls program, and candidates must have the ability to produce specific products or provide services to meet customers’ requirements.

 

Duties:

  • TPMs develop or maintain processes to meet specific programmatic needs and produce the work products defined by the hiring manager.
  • Responsible for cost analysis/control and planning and scheduling activities for projects or programs with significant non-routine requirements or for discipline/projects/programs/proposal cost and planning activities which require a high degree of technical skilled experience
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost and schedule guidance to projects and programs.
  • Ensures work is completed as scheduled. Identification of cost trends for management attention.
  • The customer may be an external body, such as a federal agency, or may be an internal organization within the Laboratory.

·        Plans and develops projects or phases of projects concerned with unique problems. Plans, develops, coordinates and assists in the management of projects.

·        May develop plans and conduct research on complex problems.

·        May also plan, administer and recommend policies to senior management.

 

Qualifications:

·        A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·        Experience supporting DOE 413.3B work scope

·        Support project scheduling using Primavera P6, including data quality checks, integration tasks, and schedule analysis.

·        Support project cost management using Cobra and EVMS processes

·        Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business domains to align solutions with project objectives.

 

Additional qualifications:

·        Advanced proficiency in Excel

·        Demonstrated initiative and independence—able to take a concept from idea to delivered product without heavy direction.

·        Strong communication skills across both technical and business contexts.

·        Experience in project controls within DOE/NNSA.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset.
