Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Electrical Engineer opportunity in Ogden, UT.

 

Per diem is available for those who qualify.

 

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will prepare electrical design drawings for construction, supporting calculations, and equipment/commodity specifications for Electrical systems associated with the DOD Sentinel project sites. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

 

Major Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer will support design documentation development of Electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers to develop design products.
  • Review client requirements and incorporate them into a design product
  • Coordinate the reviews of deliverables between the client as well as other engineering disciplines/functions. Review and resolve comments/feedback on the deliverables
  • Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
  • Reviews and checks design deliverables for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion
  • Travel to project locations as required
  • Assists in the development of electrical design deliverables such as but not limited to:
  • Single line drawings
  • Panel schedule drawings
  • Schematics
  • Cable block diagrams
  • Electrical system calculations
  • Lightning protection design
  • Cathodic protection design
  • Bill of materials/material take offs
  • Equipment sizing calculations
  • Equipment specifications for purchasing, installing, operating

 

Qualifications:

·       Level I: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

·       Level II: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and layouts.
  • Ability to execute work independently.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense
  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university preferred.
  • Knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis tools, such as ETAP.
  • Prior work experience in multi-project environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.
  • Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in USA (Electrical Engineering).
  • Hands-on experience using AutoCAD.
  • Possess active security clearance or have ability to obtain.
