Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Process Engineer opportunity in Johnson City, TN.

  

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with 20+ years of progressive engineering experience to support the design and execution of complex projects for clients within the nuclear industry. This position will provide senior-level process engineering expertise throughout all phases of project development, including conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and facility modifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead process engineering activities for nuclear facility design, modification, and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop and review process calculations, design criteria, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Perform process analyses including mass and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
  • Develop process requirements and specifications for equipment and systems.
  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentorship to process engineers and designers.
  • Perform design reviews and ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and client procedures.
  • Support process safety, hazard analyses, design basis development, and facility modification activities.
  • Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, testing, startup, and commissioning.
  • Resolve complex technical and field issues and provide technically sound engineering solutions.
  • Support development of project scopes, estimates, schedules, proposals, and technical approaches.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 20+ years of progressive Process Engineering experience, including significant responsibility for complex engineering design projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting highly regulated/high-hazard operations.
  • Extensive experience developing and reviewing PHA’s, process calculations, equipment specifications, system descriptions, and engineering design documentation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes from conceptual design through detailed design, construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • Experience leading engineering activities and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Experience working within a formal Quality Assurance and configuration-controlled engineering environment.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, problem-solving, and client-interface skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex engineering problems and develop technically defensible solutions.
