Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Civil/Structural Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.


Work Location: Aiken, SC (possible remote option available)


Civil/Structural Engineer-


Duties:


The Civil/Structural Engineer will provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned engineering teams. The Civil/Structural Engineer will perform engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering or project tasks. 


Responsibilities:


  • Analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs.
  • Use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final design engineering contract documents (Plans, Specifications & Estimates) (PS&E) for new and existing structures.
  • Design concrete structures using steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber, and composite structures.
  • Develop foundation and anchorage designs.
  • Perform analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions.
  • Prepare documents based upon CSI specifications.
  • Review vendor documents.
  • Prepare technical reports, quantities and cost estimates.


Education:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.


Experience/Skills:


  • Five (5) to twenty (20) years’ experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Proficient with STAAD (Structural Analysis and Design software).
  • Working knowledge of the National Codes and Standards (IBC, AISC, ASD, LRFD, ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA).


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Held a DOE clearance in the past two (2) years.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficient in 2D MicroStation computer-aided drafting and design (CADD).


Other Job Requirements:


  • Must Be A US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
