Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Startup Testing Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Fellow Startup Testing Engineer-


Duties:

 

  • Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields and use other technical resources, within the company, to resolve complex problems.
  • Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
  • Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
  • Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
  • Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers.
  • technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
  • Lead task teams to develop solutions to more complex problems.
  • Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
  • Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.
  • Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.
  • Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
  • Prepare reports for external publication.

 

Education & Years of Experience:

 

  • An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience OR a MS degree and 12 years' experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • Personnel shall have technical knowledge of Commissioning/Startup Testing, including experience working in the following technical areas/labor categories: Conduct of Startup Testing, Design reviews Procedure development, Test Execution.
  • Demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards, or an equivalent Commissioning/Startup program.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, approval and presenting Technical Work Documents/Commissioning Test Procedures.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work.
  • Demonstrated a minimum of 1 year or more of recent testing experience through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.

 

Other Job Requirements:

 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance (clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
