Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Designer opportunity at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL.

 

Location: 100% Onsite

Per diem available for those who qualify

 

Position Overview/Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Designer, you will support Mechanical Engineers in developing engineering design drawings.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 2-D CAD Intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and marked up prints.
  • Review drawings and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
  • Responsible for data integrity of components list.
  • Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 1: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience without a degree
  • Level 2: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience without a degree
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior experience with industry-wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, PDS2D, PDS3D, SmartPlant P&ID Component Databases.
  • Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
