Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) opportunity in Los Alamos, NM, to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) provides comprehensive occupational health services to employees, including the evaluation, treatment, and management of work-related injuries and illnesses. Working collaboratively with Occupational Medicine physicians, this role conducts physical examinations, medical surveillance, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and return-to-work assessments while ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. The provider also serves as a clinical resource for Occupational Health staff and delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to promote employee health, safety, and workplace wellness.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide comprehensive occupational health care, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct physical examinations, medical surveillance, fitness-for-duty, and return-to-work evaluations for employees.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Medicine physicians to develop treatment plans and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA, state, federal, and organizational occupational health regulations.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for Occupational Health staff while promoting employee health, safety, and workplace wellness initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine or in a clinically related field (family medicine, emergency/urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine).
  • Physician Assistants: Board certified PA-C through the NCCPA and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners/New Mexico Medical Board to practice medicine.

OR

  • Nurse Practitioners: certification through a National Nurse Practitioner certifying organization, including American Nurses Credentialing Center, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing (NP and RN). Current New Mexico Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license

 

Other Job Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance.
