Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Training Manager opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Training Manager to lead workforce development and compliance training for an industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear sector. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs that ensure employees meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards—including NQA-1, DOE, and NRC requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated manufacturing environments and a strong background in instructional design, adult learning, and compliance training.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and manage training programs for manufacturing, engineering, quality, and support personnel

·       Ensure all training content aligns with NQA-1, DOE, NRC, and internal compliance standards

·       Conduct training needs assessments and collaborate with department leaders to identify skill gaps

·       Create and maintain training materials, including SOPs, technical manuals, e-learning modules, and job aids

·       Track training completion, certifications, and qualifications using a Learning Management System (LMS)

·       Facilitate onboarding programs for new hires and refresher training for existing staff

·       Support audits and inspections by providing training records and demonstrating program effectiveness

·       Evaluate training outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies

·       Coordinate with external training providers and regulatory agencies as needed

·       Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence through effective training delivery

 

 

Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Engineering, or related field

·       7+ years of experience in training management, preferably in the nuclear, aerospace, or defense industries

·       Strong understanding of NQA-1 and nuclear regulatory training requirements

·       Experience with instructional design and adult learning principles

·       Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office tools

·       Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Master’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, or related discipline

·       Experience supporting DOE or NRC-regulated projects

·       Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD, or OSHA Trainer)

·       Familiarity with complex systems or high-speed rotating equipment

·       Experience with cleanroom protocols and contamination control

 

Other Job Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
