Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Security Escort (part-time) opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Position Summary

The Security Escort provides escort and access-control support for uncleared personnel, subcontractors, visitors, and other authorized individuals working within security-controlled areas. This is a part-time, as-needed position with work scheduled based on site and project requirements.

 

Candidates must possess an active or recently active Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance and be able to meet all applicable site security, access, training, and qualification requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Escort uncleared and authorized personnel throughout designated controlled areas while maintaining appropriate oversight at all times.
  • Monitor personnel activities and ensure individuals remain within approved locations and follow established site security requirements.
  • Confirm required identification and badging requirements are met before entering restricted or controlled areas.
  • Coordinate with site security personnel and promptly communicate access issues, unusual activity, security concerns, or potential violations.
  • Maintain awareness of current site conditions, access restrictions, boundaries, and requirements that may affect escort activities.
  • Take appropriate action when escort control cannot be maintained, including stopping movement and contacting site security as required.
  • Complete required documentation, training, and other security escort activities in accordance with site procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet site-specific requirements for clearance verification, access authorization, badging, and escort qualification.
  • Ability to understand and follow security procedures, post orders, work instructions, and site requirements.
  • Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with security personnel, supervisors, workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Dependable and able to report for assignments based on project and site needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle security-sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strict compliance with established security requirements.

  • Active or recently active DOE Q Clearance
