Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Control/Scheduling Specialist (Part-Time) opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN. 

 

Position Summary

The Part-Time Project Controls/Scheduling Specialist provide scheduling and project controls support, including schedule development, critical-path analysis, baseline management, and performance reporting. This position will collaborate with project managers and technical teams to maintain integrated schedules supporting design, testing, construction, manufacturing, and operational activities. The ideal candidate will have strong Primavera P6 experience and familiarity with DOE project scheduling requirements.

 

Candidates must possess an active or recently active Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance and be able to meet all applicable site security, access, training, and qualification requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules supporting development, testing, construction, and operational activities.
  • Support integrated master schedules using Primavera P6, consistent with applicable DOE, EVMS, and project scheduling requirements.
  • Assist with schedule baseline development, maintenance, and change management.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering, operations, and other teams to gather schedule inputs and identify potential conflicts.
  • Perform critical-path analysis, monitor performance, identify delays, and recommend schedule adjustments.
  • Prepare schedule reports, progress updates, performance metrics, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support schedule-impact assessments, scenario planning, procurement coordination, and execution sequencing.
  • Maintain scheduling documentation in accordance with DOE requirements, internal procedures, and configuration controls.
  • Assist with improvements to scheduling tools, reporting processes, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide scheduling updates and technical input.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, engineering, construction management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, or cost/schedule integration within DOE, nuclear, industrial, or technical environments.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, critical-path methodology, resource loading, and schedule development.
  • Experience supporting integrated schedules, baseline management, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and coordinate scheduling activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify schedule risks, evaluate trends, and recommend adjustments.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with DOE project controls requirements and earned-value management principles preferred.
  • Ability to independently complete assigned tasks within an established project controls framework.
