Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for Senior Civil/Structural Engineer opportunity in Paducah, KY for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP) Deactivation and Remediation (D&R) project.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate shall have a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 7 years civil/structural engineering design experience. A current professional engineering license is preferred.
Position Overview:
Under general supervision, performs Civil/Structural Design Engineering job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in engineering design and development.
Tasks shall include, at the direction of the Engineering Manager/Lead, review or technical review of design packages, engineering evaluations, calculations, etc.
Additional job duties will include but are not limited to the following:
· Performs engineering evaluations, design analysis calculations, quality level determinations, facility change travelers when necessary
· Prepares engineering design modification packages in accordance with engineering procedures and programs
· Performs engineering functions involving monitoring of progress and preparation of procedures
· Identifies and evaluates project issues and problems recommending and implementing solutions
· Prepares engineering specifications for components/equipment to meet design criteria
· Prepares bill of materials for facility modifications and initiates purchase requisitions of engineered parts
· Prepares scheduling, estimates, progress reports, meetings, meeting minutes, procurement documents, etc. necessary to support project activities utilizing professional engineering techniques with a wide latitude for independent action and decision
· Provides engineering details for drafting to prepare engineering drawings
· Performs research to analyze and validate design or theory concepts
· Responsible for technical ownership of assigned projects
· Subject matter expert for area of expertise
· Evaluates operations and proposed modifications to determine compliance with engineering discipline codes and standards, DOE Orders, and other applicable regulations as well as project/company policy
· Performs technical review, troubleshooting and day to day technical support for stabilization and deactivation projects, maintenance and operations, procurement and other groups
· Utilizes vendor data and works with personnel from other disciplines, as required, for performance of designs
· Reviews, compiles and documents all input/outputs for design modifications
· Provides technical support and engineering guidance to work planning group and reviews/approves work instructions
· Lead role for projects as assigned, coordinating with other support organizations to successfully identify the design requirements
· Interfaces with other technical organizations to compile the technical information required to prepare the documentation
· Serves as a resource/mentor for recent graduates
· Provides assigned technical or functional support to team members and other organizations
· Performs a variety of tasks complex in nature
· Other job related duties as assigned
· Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
· Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Working Conditions:
Works in an office environment at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities). Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to moderate work, exerting up to 30 pounds occasionally, non-repetitive, up to 15 pounds frequently, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
In most cases radiological training is required.
