Our client is a well-established industrial distributor with decades of market presence, serving OEMs across defense, data center, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. They are known for speed, reliability, and a customer experience that the larger distributors in their space cannot match.

They are building a structured sales model and are adding an Account Executive to own the conversion seat between SDR-generated pipeline and long-term customer accounts.

The Role

This is not a cold-outreach role. The SDR team builds and qualifies pipeline. The AE closes it. The right candidate will take qualified leads, secure quoting opportunities, win initial orders, and manage each new relationship before transitioning to Account Management. Performance is tracked weekly against a defined KPIs.

The AE will work with customers across the US while based at the company’s Illinois headquarters, with regular field time in the Chicago metro for site visits, customer meetings, and trade shows.

What Our Client Is Looking For

•    2+ years of AE or AM experience in relevant industry

•    Demonstrated ability to convert qualified leads into closed accounts

•    Technical credibility with procurement and engineering buyers

•    CRM-disciplined with strong pipeline documentation habits

•    Analytical about personal performance — tracks their own funnel, identifies gaps, and self-corrects

•    Clear, direct communicator

•    Speed-oriented; their standard is faster than the customer expects
