Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Project Accountant to join our client’s growing team in Tempe, AZ. This role is ideal for someone with foundational construction accounting experience who is looking to expand their skills in project financial management. You will play a key role in supporting project teams by ensuring accurate financial tracking, billing, and reporting across multiple construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job setup and project initialization in the accounting system
• Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice processing and collections
• Prepare and track lien waivers and bond requests
• Assist with project billing, including progress billing and documentation
• Support management of change orders and maintain accurate financial records
• Work with and maintain Schedules of Values (SOVs)
• Maintain organized and accurate project documentation
• Assist with month-end close processes and reporting

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of construction accounting experience required
• Experience with:
• Job setups
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Lien waivers and bond request processing
• Exposure to:
• Change orders
• Schedule of Values (SOVs) (strongly preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $60,000 – $75,000, depending on experience
