Funeral Director/Embalmer – Join The Team in Illinois!

Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while bringing your organizational and creative skills to the forefront? We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our client's team in Coles County Illinois.


This role combines the heartfelt with the practical, offering support to families during challenging times while managing every aspect of a personalized funeral service.


What You'll Be Doing:

Making Farewells Personal & Memorable:

  • Guiding Families: Help families choose the perfect flowers, music, readings, prayers, and other elements to craft a unique and beautiful send-off.
  • Advising on Burial & Cremation Options: Offer support and insight to help loved ones decide what’s best for them and their family.
  • Handling the Paperwork: From legal forms to life Insurance, you’ll be the go-to person for all the paperwork – making it as painless as possible.
  • Funeral Planning: You’re an event planner with a purpose! Schedule and coordinate viewings, burials, and memorial services with care and precision.
  • Benefits Support: Guide families through life insurance matters, Social Security applications, and pension benefit claims so they have one less thing to worry about.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Keep everything running smoothly, from flower deliveries to catering and transportation, so families can focus on remembering their loved ones.
  • Team Player: You’ll work closely with fellow directors, helping out wherever needed to ensure everything is perfect for the families we serve.


Embalming Services:

  • Embalming: Perform all embalming processes with expertise, giving the deceased the dignified care they deserve.
  • Body Prep for Viewing: Use your skills to dress and apply cosmetics, making sure the deceased is presented in the most respectful and comforting way possible.
  • Equipment Management: Keep embalming tools and equipment in tip-top shape, performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Supply Guru: Stay ahead of the game by managing and ordering embalming supplies before they run out.
  • Record Keeper: Document everything – from embalming procedures to body preparations – because you love staying organized.
  • Extra Hands-on Deck: When not in the embalming room, help with visitations, funerals, and any other tasks needed to make sure every service runs smoothly.
