National Sales Representative — Engineered Manufacturing

Location: Flexible within the United States; candidates based in the Midwest, Mid-South, or Southeast are especially well positioned

Travel: Approximately 50% throughout North America

Compensation: $100,000-125,000 base salary, with flexibility based on experience, plus uncapped commission and a car allowance

Work Arrangement: Remote, field-based role with required onboarding and periodic visits to the company’s Tennessee manufacturing facility

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a financially stable, privately held manufacturer to identify a driven National Sales Representative who is ready to open doors, develop new markets, and build something meaningful.

This is an exciting opportunity for a true sales hunter who enjoys pursuing new business, developing relationships with major manufacturers, and creating a national growth strategy. The company has a strong foundation in engineered rubber and industrial products and is now investing in expansion across industries such as agriculture, industrial manufacturing, heavy truck, infrastructure, and data centers.

You will initially work alongside an experienced sales professional to learn the company’s products, manufacturing capabilities, customer applications, and existing relationships. From there, you will take increasing ownership of national business development and help shape the future of the sales organization.

For the right person, this role offers substantial earning potential and a clear path toward building and eventually leading a national sales team.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Uncapped earning potential: Earn a 3% commission on all new business you generate.
  • Build your own market: Create and execute a national new-business-development strategy.
  • Strong leadership access: Work directly with executive leadership in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Room to grow: Step into increasing responsibility with the potential to lead the sales function and build a team.
  • Excellent operational foundation: Represent a financially stable manufacturer with significant production capabilities.
  • Technology-forward culture: Join a company using modern technology and artificial intelligence to improve quoting, capacity planning, and production decisions.
  • Meaningful impact: Help diversify the business and establish a presence in high-potential new industries.

What You’ll Do

  • Generate new business across agriculture, industrial manufacturing, heavy truck, data center, automotive, and related markets.
  • Develop relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, engineering teams, procurement leaders, plant leadership, and other key decision-makers.
  • Build and manage a qualified national pipeline of new accounts and revenue opportunities.
  • Prospect actively through networking, referrals, industry relationships, outbound outreach, and in-person meetings.
  • Learn the company’s manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio, technical processes, and customer applications.
  • Partner with an experienced sales professional during the initial knowledge-transfer and customer-transition period.
  • Identify a healthy mix of shorter-cycle revenue opportunities and long-term manufacturing programs.
  • Work closely with engineering, estimating, manufacturing, and operations teams to evaluate opportunities and determine customer fit.
  • Collaborate with external representative groups when appropriate.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships as needed while keeping the primary focus on new customer acquisition.
  • Help develop scalable sales processes, market strategies, and pipeline-management practices.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead additional sales professionals as business growth supports team expansion.

What We’re Looking For

You are hungry, competitive, highly relational, and energized by winning new business. You are comfortable operating independently, traveling extensively, and building a market without relying on a large, established sales infrastructure.

Direct rubber-manufacturing experience is not required. Your ability to develop relationships, understand technical products, create opportunities, and close new accounts is more important than experience with one specific material or product line.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3–5 years of successful business-to-business sales or business-development experience.
  • A demonstrated track record of acquiring new customers and generating new revenue.
  • A strong hunter mentality with confidence in prospecting, networking, and opening new accounts.
  • Experience developing relationships within industrial, agriculture, heavy truck, automotive, infrastructure, data center, or related markets.
  • The technical aptitude to understand manufacturing capabilities, engineered products, and customer applications.
  • Ability to work independently across a national territory.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout North America.
  • Availability to spend meaningful time at the company’s Tennessee facility during onboarding.
  • Comfort managing manufacturing sales cycles that may range from several months to multiple years.
  • Ability to pursue shorter-term revenue opportunities while developing strategic, long-term programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling to OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or large industrial organizations.
  • Existing relationships within one or more of the company’s target industries.
  • Experience selling manufactured components, engineered products, industrial products, or technical solutions.
  • Success launching a new territory, market, product category, or industry vertical.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, or operations teams.
  • Interest in eventually building and leading a national sales organization.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary is approximately $100,000, with flexibility for a candidate who brings highly relevant industry relationships and a strong history of generating new business.

The compensation package also includes:

  • Uncapped 3% commission on new business
  • Car allowance
  • Company-supported business travel
  • Significant total earning potential
  • Opportunity for increased leadership responsibility as the sales organization grows

Travel and Location

This is a national, field-based position requiring approximately 50% travel throughout North America. Travel levels may fluctuate based on customer activity and business needs.

The company is flexible regarding where the successful candidate lives, although candidates located in the Midwest, Mid-South, or Southeast may have convenient access to target markets and the company’s Tennessee manufacturing operations.
