This is an opportunity to join the Executive Team of a leading national organisation at a pivotal time of strategic growth and innovation. We’re looking for a dynamic, passionate, and strategic leader to shape and lead a national portfolio of high-quality, person-centred services for children and young people with complex needs – including learning disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges.

About the Role

As Managing Director for Children's Services you will:

  • Inspire and lead a high-performing senior leadership team across England and Scotland.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable growth.
  • Represent the organisation externally, influencing local and national stakeholders and partners.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of services for children and young people, with the autonomy and support to make a lasting impact.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a leader who brings:

  • Significant experience in senior operational leadership within children’s services (including CAMHS, SEND, and complex care).
  • Deep knowledge of safeguarding, regulation (e.g. Ofsted), clinical governance, and multi-agency working.
  • Proven success managing large-scale budgets, delivering service improvement, and leading organisational change.
  • Strong strategic, commercial, and people leadership skills with the ability to influence at Executive and Board level.
  • Passion for improving lives and driving person-centred care.

This role will suit a credible, values-led executive who thrives on challenge and believes in delivering exceptional support for children and young people.

Why Apply?

  • National leadership role with strategic influence and impact.
  • Opportunity to drive transformational change and innovation.
  • Work alongside an ambitious and supportive Executive Team.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • A values-led culture with a genuine focus on people and quality.
