Director of Care


Are you an experienced and visionary leader in children’s and young adults residential services, ready to take on a pivotal strategic role?

We are supporting a well-established and growing care provider in the search for an exceptional Director of Care. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic senior leadership team during an exciting period of growth and development.

As Care Director, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, safety, and performance of services across the Midlands. You will not only oversee existing provisions but play a key role in developing and opening new services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of care and compliance.

You’ll be directly accountable to the Board and lead Registered Managers and Home Managers, driving a culture of excellence, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and inspire managers to deliver consistently high-quality, child-centred services.
  • Drive strategic growth and oversee the development and registration of new services.
  • Ensure homes achieve at least Good Ofsted ratings, with a focus on achieving Outstanding.
  • Take ownership of safeguarding governance, audits, and risk management.
  • Oversee operational performance, resource allocation, and workforce planning.
  • Build strong partnerships with local authorities, commissioners, and regulators.
  • Provide strategic insight into sector trends and lead on service innovation.


About You


We’re looking for a strategic, resilient, and passionate leader with a strong track record of delivering high-quality care services.

Essential experience and qualifications include:


  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Level 7 desirable).
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior Registered Manager or Operations role in children’s residential care (adult services with transferable skills will be considered).
  • Proven success in leading multiple services to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
  • Experience opening and developing new services.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and regulatory compliance expertise.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial acumen.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
