Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 base salary

Position Overview: We’re hiring a Certified Industrial Hygienist to strengthen and help lead a growing health and safety function across a national environmental consulting firm. This is a high-impact, client-facing role with responsibilities spanning industrial hygiene, program development, field audits, and training. You’ll work in tandem with a peer H&S Manager based on the East Coast and report directly to the Director of Health & Safety. As a technical expert and strategic contributor, you’ll help shape the culture, compliance, and continuous improvement of safety programs across offices and field sites nationwide. What You’ll Do
- Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert in Industrial Hygiene
- Independently develop and execute sampling plans and monitoring programs
- Create and review Health & Safety Plans (HASPs) across diverse field environments
- Conduct site safety audits and drive corrective actions and accountability
- Lead and participate in internal safety committees
- Deliver health and safety training to internal staff and external clients
- Collaborate with project managers, regulatory agencies, legal, HR, and clients
- Oversee third-party safety program compliance and vendor management
- Contribute to RFPs and proposals where safety program strength is evaluated
- Recommend and implement enhancements to policies, systems, and procedures
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety, Public Health, or a related field
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation (required)
- 8+ years of experience in industrial hygiene or environmental health & safety
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance strategy
- Ability to design and lead sampling programs—not just execute them
- Comfortable engaging across technical, field, legal, and executive stakeholders
- Strong communication, documentation, and follow-up skills
- 40-hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour Supervisor Training preferred (company can provide if not current)
Preferred Experience
- Field and client-facing work in environmental consulting, oil & gas, or engineering services
- Experience managing site audits, incident response, or third-party safety programs
- Knowledge of air, noise, and chemical exposure assessment methods
- Previous roles as a CIH, H&S Manager, EHS Specialist, or Senior Industrial Hygienist
