Compensation: $85,000 – $125,000 base salary
Bonus: Annual bonus target of approximately 12%

Position Summary
The Senior Semiconductor Metrology Engineer is a highly technical engineering role responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining advanced metrology methods supporting semiconductor manufacturing and R&D operations. This position will play a key role in process characterization, process control, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives across advanced semiconductor and photonics manufacturing environments.
This engineer will work closely with process engineering, manufacturing, materials characterization, and development teams to establish robust measurement methodologies and deliver highly accurate, repeatable data critical to manufacturing and product decisions. The role requires strong expertise in semiconductor metrology techniques, analytical problem-solving, and statistical data analysis within fast-paced semiconductor operations.

What You’ll Do
- Develop, qualify, and optimize semiconductor metrology methods and measurement techniques
- Support process control and continuous improvement initiatives through accurate and repeatable measurement systems
- Develop and maintain measurement recipes on commercial semiconductor metrology platforms
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and report metrology data supporting manufacturing and R&D activities
- Support inline metrology integration within semiconductor manufacturing process flows
- Monitor process trends and measurement system performance while driving corrective actions as needed
- Utilize statistical analysis and SPC methodologies to improve process understanding and manufacturing yield
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Characterization, and Development teams
- Support defect analysis, wafer characterization, and materials evaluation activities
- Troubleshoot metrology system issues and optimize measurement throughput and repeatability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives tied to measurement accuracy, efficiency, and process capability
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and metrology procedures
- Present analytical findings and technical recommendations to engineering and operations teams
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline required
- Master’s degree or PhD preferred
- 5–7+ years of semiconductor metrology experience within semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor materials characterization environments
- Strong hands-on experience with semiconductor metrology techniques and characterization methods
- Experience developing and optimizing measurement recipes on commercial metrology platforms
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process flows and inline metrology integration
- Experience with analytical and characterization techniques such as SEM, AFM, XRD, optical metrology, electron beam methods, bulk analysis, surface analysis, or defect mapping
- Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities
- Experience with SPC, statistical analysis, and process improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering environments
- Ability to work effectively within fast-paced manufacturing and development operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting photonics, optoelectronics, compound semiconductor, or advanced materials manufacturing
- Experience with wafer-level defect mapping and classification techniques
- Knowledge of crystal characterization methodologies
- Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor manufacturing operations
- Exposure to automation or advanced data analysis platforms
- Experience supporting both manufacturing and R&D organizations simultaneously
