The position is best suited for an early-career or entry-level EHS manager who wants hands-on responsibility, daily engagement with operations, and the opportunity to grow professionally. The focus is heavily executional, training, inspections, incident response, and visible floor presence, rather than corporate-level policy writing.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEQ)
  • Conduct weekly safety orientation and training for new hourly employees
  • Maintain a strong on-the-floor presence to reinforce PPE usage and safe work practices
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate and maintain safety records, logs, and regulatory reporting
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Implement and support site-level safety programs and initiatives
  • Facilitate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), behavior-based observations, and safety meetings
  • Serve as the workers’ compensation claim coordinator and manage injury follow-up
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, dust, fumes, chemical exposure)
  • Ensure fire safety readiness, inspections, and employee training
  • Manage PPE selection, purchasing, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Oversee confined space entry, hazardous material response readiness, and emergency preparedness
  • Maintain employee safety training records and certifications
  • Promote environmental awareness and compliance across the site
  • Partner with plant leadership on continuous improvement and risk reduction

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field OR equivalent hands-on EHS experience
  • Approximately 5-7 years of experience in an EHS role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and safety compliance requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and influence hourly employees
  • Comfortable performing hands-on, day-to-day safety activities
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time and remain highly visible on the plant floor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in repair, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments
  • Exposure to workers’ compensation coordination and incident management
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene concepts (certification not required)
  • Safety certifications such as CSP or CIH (preferred, not required)
  • Desire for growth and development into more senior EHS leadership roles

What You Get

  • Competitive base salary with flexibility for an entry-level manager profile
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Hands-on EHS leadership role with full site ownership
  • High daily interaction with operations and plant leadership
  • Opportunity to grow skills in safety training, investigations, and compliance
  • Stable role supporting a growing repair facility
  • Clear development path for an ambitious EHS professional
