Compensation: $106,000 - $178,900 + bonuses, incentives, and overtime eligibility

What You Bring

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in refractory engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor (or equivalent design software).
  • Strong mechanical and heat transfer calculation skills.
  • Industrial plant experience and ability to provide field advisory services.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 50% (approximately 60 days per year).

Preferred:

  • Advanced 3D modeling skills and experience with Autodesk Vault.
  • Experience with ASME code-compliant welded joint design and inspection.
  • Direct Reduction or steel industry experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and engineering data organization.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and optimize refractory linings for furnaces, ductwork, and heat exchangers.
  • Specify and select refractory materials, ensuring quality and durability.
  • Provide technical support for installations, repairs, and plant shutdowns.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Inventor to develop mechanical and refractory drawings.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and collaborate with engineering teams on solutions.
  • Mentor junior teammates and help shape the future of refractory engineering.
  • Travel internationally for site inspections, vendor assessments, and project execution.
