Job Title: Provider Relations Representative
Location: Hybrid – Santa Barbara/San Luis Obispo County, CA
Compensation: $68,000 to $70,000 + benefits
About the Role:
Our client, a mission-driven healthcare organization, is seeking a proactive and community-oriented Provider Relations Representative to help strengthen and support its provider network. This role focuses on building relationships, recruiting and contracting providers, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction within the provider community. The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration, excels in communication, and is passionate about healthcare access.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for contracted providers within an assigned region
- Support provider recruitment and retention, including outreach and onboarding
- Conduct on-site and remote visits to improve engagement and satisfaction
- Lead provider trainings, orientations, and workshops to increase education and awareness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve provider issues
- Advocate for providers by researching, analyzing, and addressing complex concerns and grievances
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual terms, flagging non-compliance as needed
- Assist in the creation and dissemination of educational materials and provider communications
- Utilize provider data to assess needs and maintain up-to-date information
- Promote use of provider portals and internal tools through demonstrations and troubleshooting support
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field — or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience working with Medi-Cal, Medicaid, Medicare plans, or a public health department
- Strong understanding of managed care regulations and Medi-Cal benefits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in presenting, training, and navigating sensitive provider issues
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with technology, including MS Office Suite and provider databases
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout assigned region
Bonus if You Have:
- Prior experience in a managed care setting
- Familiarity with provider dynamics in Santa Barbara or SLO County
