Compensation: $75,000–$80,000 Base
About the Opportunity:
Our client is a highly regarded wealth management firm known for its thoughtful approach to financial planning and deep, long-term client relationships. They are looking for a Paraplanner / Associate Financial Advisor to join their growing team.
This is not a traditional back-office paraplanner position. The ideal person is technically strong and highly detail-oriented but also enjoys working with people and wants to develop into a client-facing financial advisor over time.
You will work closely with experienced advisors, helping prepare financial plans, identify planning opportunities, prepare for client meetings, and ensure recommendations are carried through to completion. You will also have the opportunity to sit in on client meetings, develop relationships, and gradually take on greater responsibility.
For someone looking to build a long-term career in wealth management, this role offers significant mentorship and a clear path toward becoming a Lead Advisor. That progression is specifically part of the firm's vision for the position.
What You'll Do:
- Work directly with advisors to prepare and update comprehensive financial plans
- Gather and analyze client information including assets, liabilities, income, expenses, insurance, taxes, and estate planning documents
- Build financial planning scenarios and help identify opportunities and recommendations
- Review CRM and planning data before meetings and help prepare agendas and client materials
- Participate in client meetings as a second-chair, taking thoughtful notes and contributing to conversations as appropriate
- Gradually present portions of financial plans and recommendations during client meetings
- Translate meetings into clear action items, CRM updates, implementation steps, and follow-up
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure planning items don't fall through the cracks
- Work closely with advisors on ongoing client service and planning needs
- Build client relationships and gradually take ownership of less-complex client relationships
These responsibilities closely reflect the firm's expectation that the person own the process from planning and meeting preparation through client meetings and execution.
What We're Looking For:
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or an RIA environment
- Experience as a Paraplanner, Associate Advisor, Financial Planning Analyst, Client Service Advisor, or similar role
- Strong understanding of core financial planning and investment concepts
- Experience with financial planning software such as eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or similar
- Series 7 & 63 licenses
- CFP® designation or actively working toward the CFP® is strongly preferred
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Comfortable interacting with affluent and high-net-worth clients
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Curious and able to identify issues or opportunities rather than simply completing assigned tasks
- Coachable, humble, accountable, and eager to learn
- Interested in mentorship and growing into greater client-facing responsibility
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
