Overview:


Our client is a boutique, mission-driven wealth management firm dedicated to empowering clients through education, transparency, and personalized financial planning. They are seeking a Director of Investment Operations to oversee the investment platform, optimize systems and processes, and lead and coach a lean, effective team to consistently exceed targets. This individual will combine deep operational expertise with strategic oversight, ensuring the firm delivers exceptional investment execution and client service at scale.



Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all aspects of investment operations, including trading, reconciliation, reporting, billing, and performance measurement.
  • Manage and mentor team members in trading, reporting, and account operations, fostering accountability and development.
  • Ensure seamless integration between planning, advisory, and trading functions.
  • Oversee portfolio implementation, cash management, and rebalancing across client accounts.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to refine investment workflows and improve system efficiencies.
  • Maintain compliance standards, ensuring adherence to firm policies and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with custodians and technology partners to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Lead quarterly review preparation, including performance data, commentary, and materials.
  • Analyze workflows and develop best practices for scalability as the firm continues to grow.
  • Partner with advisors to support investment policy design, model management, and performance tracking.
  • Support proactive client communication by helping craft and distribute timely market updates.
  • Oversee system-wide functions such as block trading and tax loss harvesting.



Qualifications:


  • 7–10+ years of experience in investment operations, portfolio management, or related functions within wealth management.
  • Deep understanding of portfolio construction, trading workflows, and custodial processes.
  • Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing team members.
  • Strong systems mindset—familiarity with custodial and performance platforms (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, Orion, Black Diamond).
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to execute both strategic initiatives and day-to-day tasks.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative leadership style.



Compensation:


  • $100,000 – $125,000 plus bonus
