The Opportunity: Director, Clinical & Donation Partnerships
The Director, Clinical & Donation Partnerships provides strategic and operational leadership for Eversight's Clinical Partner Relations department, with primary responsibility for developing and strengthening relationships across the donation and healthcare ecosystem to expand donor access, strengthen tissue supply, improve operational collaboration, and support organizational growth.
The Director serves as Eversight's senior relationship leader for Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), recovery partners, strategic eye banking partners, hospitals, Medical Examiners, Coroners, Funeral Homes, and other clinical and donation-system partners. The Director develops and cultivates new partnerships, strengthens existing relationships, identifies opportunities to increase donor and tissue access, and leads initiatives that improve partner performance and the overall effectiveness of the donation system.
Through leadership of the Clinical Relations team, the Director establishes consistent, high-quality engagement practices across hospital and postmortem programs and ensures strong collaboration among Eversight's internal operational teams and external partners. This role combines strategic partnership development, operational relationship management, team leadership, and continuous improvement and serves as a key partner to the Chief Operating Officer in advancing Eversight's growth and tissue-supply objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development
- Identifies, develops, and cultivates new partnerships with Organ Procurement Organizations, eye banks, healthcare organizations, and other organizations within the organ and tissue donation community.
- Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer on strategic partnership development, market expansion opportunities, contract negotiations, and implementation planning.
- Evaluates potential partnerships and develops operational and strategic recommendations that support organizational growth, donor access, and tissue supply.
- Maintains awareness of emerging opportunities and trends within the organ and tissue donation community and proactively develops relationships aligned with Eversight's strategic objectives.
- Builds relationships with senior leaders within partner organizations and represents Eversight as a strategic and collaborative partner.
OPO & Operational Partnership Leadership
- Serves as Eversight's senior operational relationship leader for Organ Procurement Organizations and recovery partners, fostering strong collaborative relationships, monitoring partnership performance, coordinating joint operational initiatives, and facilitating resolution of operational issues.
- Develops and maintains effective communication and operating practices with OPOs and other recovery partners to support timely donor referral, recovery coordination, and tissue supply.
- Provides strategic oversight of the Hospital Services and Postmortem Services engagement programs while empowering Clinical Relations Managers to lead day-to-day operational relationship management.
- Leads operational business reviews, performance discussions, partnership planning, and continuous improvement initiatives with key external partners.
- Partners across Recovery, Donation Support Center, Clinical Operations, Distribution, Quality, Information Technology, and other operational departments to improve coordination and collaboration with external partners.
Department Leadership
- Recruits, develops, coaches, and evaluates Clinical Relations staff.
- Establishes departmental priorities, goals, KPIs, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, partnership, and service excellence.
- Develops departmental budgets, resource recommendations, workforce plans, and succession planning.
- Ensures the Clinical Relations team has the tools, processes, training, and support necessary to build strong and productive external partnerships.
Organizational Improvement & Industry Leadership
- Identifies operational trends affecting donor access, tissue supply, partner performance, and the broader donation system and provides strategic recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives that improve operational performance and collaboration across the donation system.
- Standardizes and continuously improves partner engagement practices across hospital and postmortem programs.
- Represents Eversight with external partners, professional organizations, industry associations, and at relevant meetings and conferences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Clinical Relations Manager – Hospital Services & Clinical Relations Manager – Postmortem Services
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
- Seven or more years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including leadership of external partnerships, operations, business development, or organ/tissue donation programs, with supervisory responsibility.
- Executive-level relationship development and partnership management.
- Strategic planning and business development.
- Negotiation and contract management.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with senior leaders and external partners.
- Financial and business acumen.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into effective operational partnerships and measurable results.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Experience working directly with Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), eye banks, tissue banks, hospitals, or other organizations within the organ and tissue donation system is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the organ and tissue donation ecosystem and the relationships among OPOs, eye banks, recovery organizations, hospitals, and postmortem partners.
