Position Overview

As the Regional Business Manager, you will implement the Group Industrial Chemicals’ strategy with a strong entrepreneurial focus. Collaborating closely with the Business Line Manager (BLM), you will analyze market structures, identify high-value segments, and lead a high-performing sales team to drive volume, margins, and healthy cash flow. This role requires a unique blend of strategic commercial acumen, deep industrial chemical market knowledge, and robust financial rigor. 


Location: Angola

 

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Market Alignment: Partner with the Business Line Manager to analyze regional industrial structures, deciding which market segments to target or avoid, and executing the overarching group chemicals strategy with an entrepreneurial approach. 

 

  • Commercial Value & Growth Pipelines: Drive profitability by optimizing price, sales volume, and margins, while building a 2–3-year pipeline of new product and segment opportunities supported by structured business plans. 

 

  • Portfolio & Key Account Development: Manage and optimize a diverse customer portfolio, including multinational corporations—by executing regular site visits, offering technical assistance, and running actions to grow SOLEVO's "share of wallet." 

 

  • Financial & Supply Chain Rigor: Safeguard cash flow by enforcing strict credit policies, interpreting customer/competitor P&Ls, and collaborating through the S&OP cycle to accurately forecast sales and manage inventory levels. 

 

  • Sales Team Leadership: Direct day-to-day operations for the Industrial Chemicals team by setting up KPIs, tracking weekly/monthly performance reports, calculating sales incentives, and providing hands-on coaching and mentoring. 


Candidate Profile


Qualifications & Experience 

  • Education: Master’s degree in Economics, Management, or a closely related field. An additional background or degree in Chemistry is highly advantageous. 
  • Experience: Greater than 5 years of proven experience in commercial sales management, specifically managing direct sales forces. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with local and global chemical players, regional industrial markets, and general chemical applications. 

 

Core Skill Set 

  • Financial Rigor: A must-have ability to read and interpret financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) to enforce strict credit policies. 
  • Commercial Acumen: Mastery of advanced sales techniques, complex negotiations, client acquisition, and structured business development. 
  • Leadership Presence: Proven capacity to drive, animate, coach, and inspire a regional sales team while maintaining professional integrity and rigor.
