Workday HRIS Specialist (Contract)

Location: Orange County, CA (hybrid remote)


Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Workday HRIS Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role will work closely with the HRIS management team to deliver high-quality systems support, process improvements, and analytics across multiple HR functional areas. You’ll play a key role in ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting system issues, supporting system updates, and enabling end-users through training and documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day systems support contact for HR, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Payroll, and related modules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Workday-related issues; open and manage vendor support cases as needed to resolution.
  • Support the implementation of system updates, enhancements, and fixes—including document review, test execution, issue tracking, and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate HR system data and foundational structures.
  • Review and approve HR transactions to ensure data quality and compliance with policies.
  • Develop and deliver training resources, user guides, and process documentation for system administrators and end-users.
  • Conduct virtual training sessions for new functionality and process rollouts.
  • Establish and maintain data integrity protocols, perform regular audits, and proactively address data discrepancies.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize standard reports and dashboards to meet stakeholder needs.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience supporting Workday HCM across multiple modules (HR, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning, Payroll, Time & Attendance).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Basic to intermediate report writing skills in Workday.


Contract Details

  • Location: Onsite in Orange County
  • Duration: Contract assignment, estimation 5-6 months
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Pay Rate: $45-55/hr DOE
