Title: Head of Product


Location: Remote / U.S.-Based

Our client, an innovative and fast-growing fintech organization, is seeking a Head of Product to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of their consumer and credit union product platforms. This individual will own the full product lifecycle, from defining the vision to executing on roadmap priorities, and will play a key role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth.


About the Role

The Head of Product will drive the evolution of a modern credit card technology platform and its associated consumer-facing features. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will collaborate closely with engineering, risk, and operations teams to bring impactful products to market, enhance customer experience, and identify new opportunities that strengthen both partner and end-user engagement.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited for someone who enjoys operating at both strategic and tactical levels, setting vision in the boardroom and writing user stories with the team when needed.


Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term roadmap for consumer and credit union products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to assess new product concepts, technology investments, and business initiatives that drive growth.
  • Track market trends, customer behavior, and competitive movements to uncover product innovation opportunities.
  • Present updates, recommendations, and performance insights to senior stakeholders and board members.

Product Development & Execution

  • Translate business objectives into clear product requirements, user stories, and success metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and optimization.
  • Prioritize engineering workstreams, resolve blockers, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Manage product budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with financial goals.

Consumer Experience & Product Optimization

  • Evolve rewards programs, benefits, and engagement features that enhance cardholder value and retention.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Analytics, and Compliance teams to ensure products meet regulatory and performance standards.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations to plan and execute product rollouts, communications, and user adoption campaigns.

Team Collaboration & Influence

  • Work closely with design, UX, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive, user-centered experiences.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional contributors, fostering alignment and high performance.
  • Promote a data-driven product culture focused on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Proven record of driving results through ownership of product P&L and roadmap delivery.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to write or review detailed product requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to senior leadership and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Hands-on expertise with product tools such as Jira, Figma, and analytics dashboards.
  • Skilled at balancing long-term strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

Preferred

  • 5+ years in fintech, financial services, or payments.
  • Prior experience managing credit card, lending, or B2C financial products.
  • Exposure to early-stage or high-growth environments where adaptability is key.
  • Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks in financial products.
