Technical Project Manager
We are partnering with a growing technology-driven organization to identify a Technical Project Manager who knows how to bring structure to complex work without slowing teams down.
This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who can manage several technical initiatives at once, spot problems before they become deadlines, and keep engineers, business stakeholders, vendors, and distributed teams moving in the same direction.
Most of the work will center around software delivery, with occasional exposure to infrastructure and hardware initiatives. The right person will be comfortable shifting between Agile delivery, traditional project planning, executive communication, and the day-to-day problem solving required to get technical work across the finish line.
What You'll Own
Drive Technical Delivery
- Manage multiple technical projects simultaneously from planning through launch and completion.
- Build practical project plans, timelines, milestone schedules, and dependency maps that give teams real visibility into delivery.
- Maintain a clear view of scope, priorities, ownership, and upcoming risks across concurrent workstreams.
- Identify blockers, resource constraints, and competing dependencies early and drive them toward resolution before delivery is impacted.
Keep Engineering Teams Moving
- Lead Agile ceremonies across software initiatives, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and other delivery checkpoints.
- Work closely with engineering, QA, IT, and other technical teams to maintain momentum and remove obstacles.
- Adapt your delivery approach based on the work rather than forcing every project into the same methodology.
- Apply more structured or waterfall-style planning when supporting infrastructure, hardware, or other projects that require it.
Connect Technology & the Business
- Translate technical requirements, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs into language business stakeholders can understand.
- Make sure engineering teams have clear expectations around priorities, scope, timelines, and business outcomes.
- Keep stakeholders informed without creating unnecessary meetings or reporting overhead.
- Provide concise, structured updates around project health, milestones, risks, decisions, and next steps.
Coordinate Distributed Teams
- Keep internal teams, external partners, vendors, and remote resources aligned across multiple workstreams.
- Manage dependencies across teams working in different locations and time zones.
- Establish strong communication and documentation practices that reduce confusion and prevent work from falling through the cracks.
- Create clarity around ownership and accountability when multiple teams contribute to the same initiative.
Strengthen Delivery Practices
- Operate with meaningful day-to-day autonomy while partnering closely with senior project and technology leadership.
- Help improve project-management standards, processes, templates, and delivery practices across the organization.
- Bring structure where it is useful while remaining flexible enough to support fast-moving technical teams.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience managing multiple concurrent technology or software-delivery projects.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Deep working knowledge of Agile and Scrum, with the judgment to use traditional project-management approaches when appropriate.
- Experience with project and delivery tools such as Jira, Linear, Smartsheet, or comparable platforms.
- Demonstrated success managing remote, distributed, or cross-time-zone teams.
- Strong ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, resolve blockers, and balance competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers while also communicating clearly with business and leadership teams.
- Exposure to IT infrastructure or hardware-related projects is valuable but not required.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or PSM are helpful but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
