Director, IT Infrastructure & Security
We are partnering with a growing organization to identify a Director, IT Infrastructure & Security who will take ownership of the technology foundation behind the business.
This is a highly visible leadership role spanning cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, enterprise systems, IT operations, reliability, vendor management, and modernization. The person stepping into this role will help ensure the organization’s technology environment is secure, scalable, resilient, and ready to support continued growth.

What You'll Own
Security Strategy & Risk Management
- Lead the organization’s security strategy across technology, systems, infrastructure, and operational processes.
- Develop and strengthen policies, controls, and security practices designed to protect digital and physical assets.
- Identify and prioritize security risks, vulnerabilities, and areas of exposure.
- Establish practical controls and remediation plans based on business impact and risk.
- Own incident-response planning and coordinate investigations and response efforts when security events occur.
- Maintain readiness against relevant security frameworks and standards, including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other applicable requirements.
- Build and maintain employee security-awareness initiatives that reduce preventable risk.
Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership
- Own the strategy and ongoing evolution of a scalable, reliable, and secure technology infrastructure.
- Oversee cloud environments, with a strong focus on AWS, balancing performance, security, reliability, and cost.
- Guide the management of enterprise infrastructure including networks, servers, databases, and supporting systems.
- Ensure network environments remain secure and performant across areas such as firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and related security technologies.
- Support the organization’s enterprise collaboration ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, and related tools.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities to minimize operational disruption.
IT Operations & Reliability
- Drive operational practices that support high availability, stability, and performance across technology services.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities that provide clear visibility into system health, security, and reliability.
- Use operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead efforts to automate repeatable operational activities such as updates, deployments, maintenance, and scaling.
- Strengthen processes around capacity planning, change management, incident management, and operational readiness.
Vendors, MSPs & Technology Partners
- Own relationships with external technology providers across infrastructure, security, support, and operations.
- Manage outsourced and managed-service partners with clear expectations around service quality, responsiveness, security, and cost.
- Evaluate when capabilities should remain internal versus being delivered through specialized external partners.
- Hold vendors accountable for service levels, performance, and business outcomes.
Cross-Functional Technology Leadership
- Partner closely with teams across engineering, product/platform, data & AI, legal, and other business functions.
- Translate organizational needs into practical infrastructure and security solutions.
- Provide leadership with clear reporting around technology performance, security posture, major incidents, risk, and ongoing improvements.
- Serve as a trusted technology partner who can balance operational needs with long-term strategy.
Budget, Cost & Modernization
- Own budgeting across infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, and supporting technology services.
- Manage significant technology investments with a focus on business value and responsible resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to optimize cloud spend, MSP/support costs, licensing, and security tooling.
- Lead major modernization initiatives that improve reliability, security, efficiency, and scalability.
- Develop longer-term infrastructure and operations strategies aligned with organizational growth.
What We're Looking For
- Significant leadership experience across IT infrastructure, cloud operations, cybersecurity, or technology operations.
- Strong experience with AWS or comparable enterprise cloud environments.
- Broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, security, and operational reliability.
- Experience developing or managing security programs, controls, incident response, and risk-management practices.
- Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or comparable security requirements.
- Experience across capacity planning, change management, incident management, monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of automation and modern DevOps / infrastructure operations practices.
- Experience managing third-party providers, MSPs, technology vendors, and outsourced services.
- Strong financial management experience, including ownership of significant infrastructure and technology budgets.
- Demonstrated experience leading major modernization or transformation initiatives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical teams, executive leadership, and external partners.
